Is an appointment on site necessary?

Is an on-site appointment prior to the installation of a stairlift at all necessary? This question became particularly important to us during the corona pandemic. more often placed. In this article, we tell you what options are available during the pandemic!

In the age of digitalisation, more and more processes are being digitalised and outsourced. Of course, it is now possible to quickly send a few photos or videos of your staircase via WhatsApp or other messenger services. make.

Although this gives us the opportunity to get an idea of the current living situation in advance, this is usually not enough to design the right solution for your current living situation.

We want to be honest with you, you only buy a stairlift once and for this reason we should carefully weigh up the possibilities of an on-site appointment.

This results in two options for you as a user:

Option 1:

The stairlift is installed in such a way that it technically travels up or down the stairs. If possible, with as few bends as necessary, because then it is cheaper.

But what happens if other people have to go up and down the stairs and the chair is in the way at the start or end position and thus massively impairs normal staircase use?

What happens if you have opted for a chair that has a manual swivel seat at the end of the last step and you only realise after assembly that you cannot turn the chair independently or don't even dare to sit in it because you have the feeling that you are sitting in the open staircase?

Or was the chair or the track layout planned so that when the chair is at the starting position, the entrance door is blocked?

Sonilift Note:

Very few people realise that any faults with a stairlift usually occur at the start or end position.

And this is precisely why it is particularly important to keep the entrance area clear.

We know that there are many things to consider when purchasing a suitable stairlift. And this is where we come into play for you as a competent partner of Sonilift.

Thanks to our many years of experience, we can accurately assess which stairlift is best for you and your fine motor skills, for example.

Far too often, customers have told us that they were unable to use their lift independently because they were unable to operate it.

Option 2:

Our trained Sonilift consultant will carry out a free needs analysis on site and discuss the implementation of your stairlift with you and, if possible, with your relatives.

If no on-site appointment can be realised, we would of course like to offer you an alternative.

In order to ensure that we can examine all options in your favour, we need the following from you Photos of the starting position and the end position, as well as the course of the staircase. This gives us an overview of the entire staircase.

Please be sure to let us know your wishes or certain restrictions that Sonilift should be aware of.

We also need a few measurements: the clear dimension (e.g. if I have a handrail on both sides, the dimension between the two handrails is the clear dimension required).

If a handrail can be removed, the measurement from the handrail to the wall counts. It is a good idea to make a small sketch here, which can also be photographed afterwards.

A short planning video is very helpful to illustrate the staircase layout.

You are welcome to send us the video via Whatsapp - you can find the number on our website.

Please be sure to include your contact details such as your name, address and telephone number. This is the best way for us to reach you.

However, we would like to expressly mention that this process is only suitable as an alternative substitute and only for preliminary planning and cannot replace or substitute an on-site consultation.
